In the case of a defective warranty item, a copy of the replacement invoice, serial number of the unit under which it was replaced, and a description of the symptoms of the defect must be returned with the part to: A-dec Inc. 261 Crestview Drive, Newberg, Oregon 97132, USA. 5 Equipment Alterations Policy: Certain modifications or alterations of A-dec equipment which expand the use of A-dec equipment beyond its design and intent, or which override any safety features of A-dec equipment may jeopardize doctor, patient or staff safety. Examples of field modifications that diminish safety design include, but are not limited to, rendering access to the line voltage without the use of tools, modification of supporting elements that increase or shift loading characteristics, and the addition of any powered device that exceeds the design limits of the dental system. The use of accessory equipment not complying with the equivalent safety requirements of A-dec equipment may lead to a reduced level of safety of the resulting system. It is the responsibility of the equipment distributor and the installer to assure that the installation complies with all building code requirements. A-dec will not respond to inquiries on an individual basis. This person(s) will be deemed to have assumed all associated risks with such alteration or modification and will hold A-dec harmless from resulting claims, including product liability claims. Additionally, such modification or alteration voids A-dec's warranty and may invalidate UL or other regulatory agency approval. All product names used in this document are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective holders. This system provides automatic control of each handpiece. Until you lift a handpiece from its holder, it is inactive and cannot operate. As soon as you lift a handpiece it automatically becomes active, allowing it to run when you press the foot control disc.

Turn counterclockwise to increase the flow. 7. The coolant air has been set for ALL handpieces. Turn counterclockwise to increase the flow. 7. Adjust the coolant water for EACH handpiece. WATER COOLANT ADJUSTMENT KEY MASTER 1 Figure 8. Coolant Water Adjustment 8 15 The handpiece tubing flush system flushes more water through the tubings in less time than is normally possible when operating the foot control only. The handpieces should not be connected when flushing the tubings. How Often Should Handpiece Tubing be Flushed. After Each Patient: Flush the tubings for about 2-3 seconds. At the Beginning of Each Day: Flush the tubings for 2-3 minutes. Flushing the Handpiece Tubings Gather up all the handpiece tubings that use coolant water and hold them over a sink, cuspidor bowl or basin. Be sure you hold the tubings so that the water will be directed away from you and into the receptacle (see Figure 9). Locate the handpiece tubing flush toggle (see Figure 9). Move the toggle toward the front of the cart and hold for the appropriate time required, either for flushing between patients or flushing at the beginning of each day. Release the toggle and replace the tubings in their holders. However; if a holder is difficult to reposition or repositions too easily, the holder tension can be adjusted. To adjust the holder tension: Loosening or tightening the tension adjustment screw shown in Figures 1. To reposition a holder: Rotate the holder to the desired angle. Figure 1. Individual Handpiece Holder 1 17 Handpiece Dry Block Conversion Your Cascade handpiece control system has one to four handpiece control blocks with coolant water to the handpiece. In some cases a control block without coolant water, a dry block, is required. If you require a dry block (offering no water to the handpiece) on your handpiece control system, a dry block conversion kit has been included with your system. Bleed the system water by operating the syringe and flushing the handpiece tubings. 2.

With the exception of the drive air pressure gauge, all controls and indicators are located on the sides and bottom panel of the unit. Autoclavable adjustment keys (see Figure 1) are provided for making adjustments to the recessed controls. You may also order additional keys from your authorized A- dec dealer. Turns on and off the air, water, and electrical power to the system. This will prevent the possibility of water damage should a leak occur while the unit is unattended. MASTER 1 DRIVE AIR PRESSURE GAUGE Figure 3. Drive Air Pressure Gauge Water Outlet with Flow Control The water outlet with flow control (see Figure 4) provides water for hydrocolloid tubing. The outlet accepts A-dec s quick disconnect (QD) flow-control. Flow is controlled by a knob on the QD itself. To increase flow, turn the knob counterclockwise; to decrease flow turn the knob clockwise. KNOB WATER OUTLET QUICK DISCONNECT (QD) FLOW-CONTROL QUICK DISCONNECT (QD) Figure 4. Water Outlet With Flow Control 4 11 The foot control modulates drive air to the active handpiece and provides an air signal that activates the coolant air and coolant water flow. The foot control is operated by light foot pressure applied to any part of the foot control disc. Allows you to shut off the coolant water to the handpiece without moving your hands from the oral cavity. Using your foot, move the toggle away from the blue dot to turn the coolant water OFF. Move the toggle toward the blue dot to turn the coolant water ON. Adjust the drive air pressure to meet the handpiece manufacturer s dynamic drive air pressure specification. Refer to the documentation that came with your handpiece for the dynamic drive air pressure specification. Turn the drive air control counterclockwise to increase drive air pressure flow. Turn the control clockwise to decrease flow. 7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 for EACH handpiece. A strong flow of air is recommended. Turn the control clockwise to decrease the flow.

Solids Collector The solids collector, located inside the cart (see Figure 16), collects solids and prevents them from entering the central vacuum system. To remove the canister lid, turn off the vacuum, then twist the lid counterclockwise and lift it off. At least once per week, remove and clean the solids collector screen (see Figure 17). This is necessary to ensure proper suction from the central vacuum. Refer to your Assistant s Instrumentation Owner s Guide (A-dec Publication No ) for complete solids collector maintenance instructions. LID SCREEN CANISTER Figure 17. Pre-Regulator controls the air and water pressures in the unit. The procedure for adjusting system pressure is given on page 17. Air and Water Filters prevent solids from entering the unit. In-Cart Utilities 16 23 System Air and Water Pressure Adjustments The air and water manual shutoff valves, as well as any vacuum or drain outlets, are located in the floor box mounted over the office plumbing on the floor or wall. Before making any adjustments to components in the cart top, verify that the manual shutoff valves in the floor box are all the way open (turned fully counterclockwise) and that the compressor is on and functioning properly. The air compressor should maintain 8 12 psi ( kpa) in the tank. Air pressure should be 7 8 psi ( kpa). Water pressure should be 35 4 psi ( kpa). 4. While watching the gauges, operate the syringe. If the system air pressure drops by more than 15 psi (13 kpa), or water pressure by more than 1 psi (69 kpa), check for clogged filters. 17 24 System Air and Water Pressure Adjustments (continued) 5. If adjustment of either the air or water pressure is required, turn the appropriate pre-regulator knob (see Figure 19). Clockwise to increase pressure. Counterclockwise to decrease. Make sure air and water pressure are maintained.

Locate the handpiece control block position that will be the dry block. Install the small black cartridge from the dry block conversion kit into the control block (see Figure 11). 5. Turn your handpiece control system on, then check the function of the dry block handpiece conversion. A small amount of residual water may be discharged from the handpiece tubing but should dry after a few seconds. NOTE When decreasing system air or water pressure, you will not see the air or water pressure gauge in the utility center change until you relieve pressure from the system. Activate the syringe for a few seconds, then check the gauge. Repeat this process each time you make an adjustment to decrease pressure. 18 25 Filter Maintenance Air and Water Filter Elements Air and water pass through separate filters in the utility module before entering the regulator. A filter must be replaced when it becomes sufficiently clogged, restricting flow to the regulator. To determine the location of your system utility module, (see Figure 18 on page 16). While watching the air pressure gauge in the cart top, press the syringe air button. If the air pressure indicated by the gauge drops by more than 15 psi (13 KPA), the filter element is clogged and must be replaced. While watching the water pressure gauge in the cart top, press the syringe water button. Bleed the system of air and water pressure by operating the syringe buttons until air and water no longer flow. The SPDIF input signal can even be recorded via USB - as one would expect from RME the DAC is a true 2 channel Full Duplex audio interface. Even the IEM output, with -118 dBu already the world's lowest noise headphone output, improves to a sensational -121 dBu. In addition, there is 4 dB of digital headroom, so that even high intersample peaks do not produce any audible distortion. There are no changes in operation, features and behavior compared to the predecessor, which is why neither appearance nor name have changed. The only difference: with 'Low Dispersion' another digital filter is available for selection. Explanations for this filter can be found in the detailed manual of the ADI-2 DAC. Modern IEMs have a reference sound that easily competes with bulky over-ear headphones, making them not only a mobile alternative, but also an interesting solution in home. As a side effect they uncover the noise floor of the player, DAC or headphone amp. When RME developed its Extreme Power headphone stage the basic noise floor was taken care to be as low as possible. Even when used with IEMs. Also capable outputs like the Extreme Power ones are not fully safe against operating errors and might blow up ears or IEMs. We're sure you will love it! Here we go: display, function keys, volume knob, even the standby button - they all go off after 10 seconds of no user operation when AutoDark is activated in the unit's menu. Touching any button or control will turn on all lights for 10 seconds. Once again: we're sure you will love it! This nicely designed remote control has clearly labeled buttons, readable even in low light conditions without reading glasses, a nicely laid out button arrangement that is easy to remember, and perfect button ergonomics. Plus: It won't interfere with your ATV or other devices. There is no other converter or comparable device with such a sophisticated, easy to use and at the same time versatile remote control!

It has all the bells and whistles that made the ADI-2 Pro famous, including its perfectly transparent sound signature and full DSP processing with Bass, Treble, Loudness, 5 Band Parametric EQ, Crossfeed and much more. With its simplified operation and stunning design it is the ideal center piece from home listening up to studio reference playback. Thanks to its combination of high-end DA conversion with two exceptional headphone IEM outputs and a remote control, it has received countless enthusiastic reviews for its sound, flexibility, and technical capabilities. To address the home and HiFi users, RME exchanged some of the Pro's studio features with typical home and HiFi ones. With an adapted feature set and much simplified operation RME proudly presents the ADI-2 DAC. Built on the technology, concept and features of the ADI-2 Pro, the DAC concentrates on DA conversion in top high-end quality, along with two exceptional headphone and IEM outputs.

Owner ’ s Manual By paying close attention to these details, you will greatly reduce the likelihood of problems. 1.1. Installation: Please make sure that your Anprol ene sterilizer is installed cor- rectly. Full installation instructions ca n be found in Appendix B, starting on page 46. Please pay close attention to the following factors: a. Temperature: Ethylene Oxide (EtO) is sensitive to temperature and becomes less effective at lower temperatures. Please refer to Section 4, beginning on page 17, for more information on humidity and pre-humidification. 1.3. Preparing Items for Sterilization: Materials to be sterilized by all Ethylene Oxide sterilizers, including Anprolene, must be meticulously cleaned and dried.

Coatings of dried proteins such as pus, blood or feces protect microorganisms and slow the sterilization process. Precau tions m ust alwa ys be taken before sterilization with Anprolene. To prepare items for sterilization, please include the following steps: a. Disassemble - Anprolene is a highly diffusible gas sterilant; nevertheless, occlusive caps, plugs and stylets must be removed from instruments so that the gas can penetrate freely. Hollow bor e needles and plastic or rubber tubing must be open and free from stylets and plugs. Syringes must be packaged with the plungers removed. b. Wash - Scrub the disassembled instruments in detergent and water to the most critical standard of cleanliness possible. W e recommend the use of an enzymatic cleaner such as Andersen Products’ AN2281 Surgical Instrum ent Enzymatic Detergent, which ma y be used with most materials. c. Dry - Water on instruments at the time of exposure to Anprolene may react with the gas and reduce its effectiveness. Make sure that items to be steril- ized are physically dry before wra pping and processing. Towel drying or drain drying is sufficient.By paying close attention to these details, you will greatly reduce the likelihood of problems. 1.1. Installation: Please make sure that your Anprol ene sterilizer is installed cor- rectly. Towel drying or drain drying is sufficient. The Liquid Crystal Display will illuminate. The initial startup and standby screen is shown to the right. To load the s terilizer and comm ence a sterilization cycle, press the button imme diately to the right of the wor d S TAR T. If an abator is attached to th e machine, the number of cycles remaining for the abator cartridge w ill be dis- played. A new abator cartridge may be used for a maximum of 250 sterilization cy cles. The display will indicate that the sterilizer has performed a self test on the cabinet ventilation pump and ventilation switch. The version of the com puter software is show n (VER 4.04).

It can be used with all ADI-2 DACs, even older ones, if they are equipped with the latest firmware (at least version FPGA 27, DSP 33 ). There is not much to improve with SteadyClock, it has earned its accolades over years of flawless operation in numerous RME devices, guaranteeing that using the internal clock will produce exactly the same sound as when using an external one. SteadyClock highly rejects jitter and handles all digital interface formats in an exemplary way. That's why SteadyClock's design and behavior didn't change in the DAC. The self jitter measured through DA conversion now reaches levels that usually are only available in master quartz clock mode, while SteadyClock still always runs in PLL mode - no matter if internal or external clock, sound is exactly the same (again). The low phase noise oscillator driving the updated circuit reaches jitter specs lower than a picosecond (ps), an area called FemtoSecond. Hence SteadyClock FS. Playback software can cut bits, add dither, or change the level - without these changes becoming noticed easily. A poorly programmed driver can manipulate bits, and a playback hardware could be both badly designed and defective (hanging bits, swapped bits).Robust and light-weight switching power supply, 100 V-240 V AC, 12 V 2 A DC. Lockable DC connector. Simultaneous usage of multiple cards in all functions. Displays fully configurable (e.g. channel selection). Multichannel Level Meter freely configurable. MMCSS for Vista. The used gas release bag ampoule and steril ization liner bag may be disposed of in ordinary rubbish. Never reuse sterilization liner bags. 3.17. Gas absorbent materials such as rubber or plastic must be aerated in their individual packages for at least 24 additional hours before they are used.It has been demonstrated repeatedly that so me microorganisms are made very resistant to Ethylene Oxide sterilization systems by desicc ation, which is exposure to very low relative humidity.

As a result, humidity is a very important part of the Eth y lene Oxide sterilization cycle. Items that can be washed in water and towel or air dried will not need pre-humidification. Items that may be damaged by immersion in water or a sterilization load that contains a large amount of material that will absorb water (dry paper and cloth) will need pre-hum idification. Pre-humidification may take place outside the sterilizer cabinet. Take caution not to rip or puncture the sterilization liner bag. During the sterilization cycle, use a Hum idichip to ensure a minimum of 35% Relative Hu- midity inside the sterilization liner bag. If there is any question as to the integrity of the sterilization liner bag, use a new li ner bag for the sterilization cycle. IMPORTANT!
