Power Usage Notes Adding peripherals may increase the loading on the power supply to your board and this, in turn, may affect the voltage presented to the Raspberry Pi. If the Raspberry Pi's supply voltage falls below a certain value (anecdotally stated as around 4.75 V), or it begins to fluctuate, your setup may become unstable. There is a Wiki section about this issue which is worth a read. Model B Hardware Revisions and USB Power limitsHardware Revision 1.0 The original Model B board had current limiting polyfuses which limited the power output of each USB port to approximatly 100 mA. USB devices using more than 100 mA had to be connected via a powered hub. The Raspberry Pi's PSU was chosen with a power budget of 700 mA of which 200 mA were assigned to the USB ports, so the Raspberry Pi's (poly)fuses were designed only for devices up to 100 mA, and typical 140 mA polyfuses will have as much as 0.6 volt across them when drawing currents near the 100 mA limit.

With that driver the device is detected, but it does not seem to be possible to actually put any traffic through it.:-( In order to make it work you need to the latest driver from the chipset manufacturer. Fortunately this is GNU GPLv2 -licenced source code and not a binary blob, so compiling it for the Raspberry Pi is perfectly doable. Reboot and you should have a fully working Ethernet adapter. The adapter seems to work without a powered USB hub, but according to the specifications it can draw up to 190 mA, so there might be stability issues if additional power is not provided. No external power source or USB hub needed.

    ade concept 6 user manual

The damn thing went ape the other day when I tried to change the 12V battery in the box doobrie. What gets me is no-one takes them seriously anyway, just as with car alarms, so I’m beginning to think they are all just a waste of time. People just think “another irritating false alarm” and ignore it. I just don't think the juice is worth the squeeze sometimes. I think someone could be coming out of my house with a big bag of swag and arrows on a boiler suit complete with mask and no-one would bat an eyelid. I live in a neighbourhood watch too, whatever that means. It’s probably someone assigned in the road to watch people run off with your goods as opposed to someone else not assigned to watch people run off with your goods. Oh well, I bet the sight of that sign scares the burlars off in my neighbourhood though. (Yeah right). I think the alarm my friend has is probably the way to go. Something about any intrusion automatically alerts the police via his BT line who then hot-foot it to your door I think. I guess what happens then is they arrest the 1000 times repeat offender and tell him he’s a very naughty boy in a Monty Python voice. We inherited the alarm with the house and have no idea how it works. There’s a chance the control panel was spiked during the storm which may have blown an internal fuse and the internal backup battery, perhaps due to age, did not have enough life to keep the alarm system running. This will often have a phone number or brand name of the company who fitted the alarm. Quick Quote Thank you:-). There are many burglar alarm systems on the market, ranging from cheaper DIY alarms to more sophisticated alarms; including wireless alarms; costing hundreds of pounds. Remember, a badly-fitted alarm can create problems in itself. Don't install a DIY system unless you have the electrical knowledge and practical skill to do so. As a guide, make sure your security system is installed by a Fair-trades approved company. DOOR- Secure All Doors. If doors are not secure, Fit back and front doors with five lever mortise deadlocks - and use it. Fit all exterior doors - top and bottom - with bolts. WINDOWS - A third of burglars get in through a back window. LIGHTING - Good lighting can deter a thief. Think of having external security light with infra-red sensor that switches the light on for a few moments when it detects movement in its range. HOME AND AWAY - Don't tempt the thief - keep all valuable items out of sight. Don't advertise your absence when you're on holiday, or even when out at work or shopping or at home sleeping. Most burglars will only tackle an unoccupied house. Good quality Safes are now affordable. HOME INSURANCE - Insurance will relieve you of the financial worry of replacing stolen goods and many insurance companies offer reduced premiums for people with good home security. Under Maintenance. CALL US TODAY 07786234207 Security lighting, one of the most common types of outdoor security, is an effective deterrent in preventing crime and intrusions.

Please do not ring us regarding manuals - this is an email only service. Please also note that for security reasons we do not provide engineering type information or engineer manuals.Mail me and I'll try to help?why not call us and we can service your alarm system and leave you with new instruction manuals for your system at no extra cost. Here's the reason why. These are usually fixed to the wall in an under stairs cupboard, utility cupboard or inside a wardrobe. Therefore when the mains is removed, the main control panel battery can't keep the system running so the external sounder starts ringing to inform you there's a problem.Your neighbours may then see this article in their Facebook news feed and actually do something about it:) This battery powers the sounder only in the event of a mains fail, or if the cable to the sounder was cut. This notifies the alarm that you have aknowledged the power cut and, at this point, the alarm is being powered by the back-up battery. More on how to do this below: Your neighbours may then see this article in their Facebook news feed and actually do something about it:) If you have a maintenance contract with the alarm company you should let them do this. This could be as simple as switching off the plug top which feeds the main control box, or flicking out a fuse if fitted with an un-switched fused spur. Quick Quote You should be able to stop this sound by cancelling the tamper alarm by entering your code into the keypad. You can ignore these wires as you're only interested in the battery. If the tamper switch is accidentally pressed again, don't forget you can silence the alarm by entering your code. Quick Quote You probably need to reset it. You should hear a beep to confirm the reset. This is most likely if the cause of the power cut was due to an electrical storm.

Digital Communicator A device connected to the Control Panel which sends a digitised signal to the Alarm Receiving Centre Double Knock Some Control Panels and Detectors can be programmed to only alarm if two alarm signals are received within a certain time. This can significantly reduce the occurrance of false alarms. Dual Technology Detector A detector with two different types of detection within the same housing. The most common type uses PIR and Microwave technology such that both technologies have to be triggered to produce an alarm condition. Can be fitted with battery operated flashing LEDs Duress Code An alarm unset code which unsets the alarm system as normal but sends a personal attack code to the Alarm receiving centre. Detectors on this route do not cause an alarm until a user programmed time has elapsed. Extension Speakers Most control panels have terminals for fitting extension speakers or internal piezo sounders Full Set Most Alarm control panels can be programmed for Full and Part settings. Full set normally alarms all the active zones of the system. The function of the zones can also be changed. Detectors which detect and process vibrations typical of an intruder trying to forcibly open a door or window (or even a wall!) Intelligent Device system (iD) iD systems use miniature silicon chips (Biscuits) which are easily fitted into any standard detector at the time of installation. Each biscuit uniquely identifies the detector it is connected to, thereby allowing up to 30 detectors to be connected to a single cable. IP An IP (Ingress Protection) number is used to specify the environmental protection of enclosures around electronic equipment. These ratings are determined by specific tests. The IP (Ingress Protection) number is composed of two numbers, the first referring to the protection against solid objects and the second against liquids. The higher the number the better the protection.

LCD Liquid Crystal Display - these allow the information on Control Panels and Remote Keypads (RKPs) to be displayed alphanumerically LED Light Emitting Diode Magnetic Contact A detector comprising a magnetically operated reed switch and a separate magnet. Usually used on doors and windows where the magnet is fitted to the opening door or window and the switsh on the fixed frame such that when the opening door or window is closed the magnet is in close proximity to the switch such that the switch closes and the circuit connected to the switch is closed, This is known as a Normally Closed (NC) detector Master Code The administrators code for the system which allows all available programming functions Monitored Alarm An alarm system usually monitored by an ARC. NACOSS National Approval Council for Security Systems. NICEIC National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting NSI National Security Inspectorate Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) This is a memory chip in the Control Panel which remembers the programmed alarm settings when all power is removed. The NVM can usually be reset to Factory Default settings. This may be programmed to cause a silent alarm if the system is monitored, thus having the same effect as Duress code. Part Set Most Alarm control panels can be programmed for Full and Part settings. Full set normally alarms all the active zones of the system. Part set can be programmed to omit specified zones. The function of the zones can also be changed. A lens at the front of the detector splits the area 'seen' into several zones, when the temperature 'seen' in adjacent zones changes at a certain rate then an alarm is triggered. Pet Immune (PIR) Detector This type of detector is similar to a standard PIR but has a reduced sensitivity. Typically not detecting animals weighing up to 80 lbs. Also available in Dual Technology versions.

To increase your security, you can install security lighting from the very simple single floodlight with a built-in Infra-red Sensor to a professional Security Lighting System, which can be controlled and switched from inside the building. The system can be designed to allow the area around the building to be divided into separate individually activated zones. The security lighting can also be used in conjunction with Closed Circuit Television cameras, to record any unusual activity. A1 SAS security liverpool use equipment in our Security Lighting Systems from the leading manufacturers, who specialise in this area of building Protection.Active IR Active Infra-red detectors, as opposed to Passive Infra-red (PIR), comprise an IR transmitter and receiver and are usually used to provide a long curtain coverage e.g. the perimeter of a compound. Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Also known as Central Station. An ARC is a secure location which monitors signals from alarm systems connected to it. The ARC uses Confirmed Detection to verify that an alarm has been generated by an intruder (audio - listening device on premises, visual - CCTV on premises, Sequential Confirmation) and on confirmation will contact the Police. Auto-dialler A device connected to the alarm control panel which dials up to 4 pre-programmed telephone nuimbers and delivers pre-recorded voice (with some systems text as well) messages. On control panels with a suitable communicator output the type of alarm (intruder, fire, Personal attack) can be differentiated and a specific message for the type of alarm can be sent. Other sensors may also be connected to the autodialler, e.g. a temperature sensor in a cold storage room to send a message that the temperature has risen above a preset value. Back-up Battery A rechargeable battery used to power burglar and Fire alarms in the event of mains power failure.

All systems should be fitted with a battery of suitable capacity, which should maintain the system in a quiescent (non-alarm) state for at least 8 hours. Batteries remain in reasonable condition for up to 3 years but they should be checked annually (voltage should be 13v - 13.6v) Bell Formerly used in burglar alarm installations, still used in some fire alarm installations - output approx. 90dB Bellbox A housing, usually external used to enclose audio (formerly a bell but now Piezo Sounder(s)), visual (Strobe) or nothing (Decoy or Dummy). Blank End-station A Blank End-station is an alarm control panel without an on-board keypad. Blank End-stations can be hidden from view (attic etc.). Break-Glass Detector An intruder alarm detector comprising a microphone and signal processor to identify the unique sound frequencies of breaking glass, BS4737 British Standards for design, installation and maintenance of intruder alarm systems BS5979 British Standards for construction and working practices of an ARC BS6799 British Standards for wireless intruder alarm systems Cable (alarm) Wired Alarm systems use multi-core cable to monitor the detectors and to connect to sounders. Cable is available in 4, 6, 8, and 12 core versions and in white or brown. Non-powered detectors (e.g. magnetic contacts) require a minimum of 4 cores (2 for alarm, 2 for tamper), Powered detectors (e.g. PIRs, vibration detectors) require a minimum of 6 cores (2 for alarm, 2 for tamper, 2 for 12v power). Self Actuating Bells (SABs) and SCBs usually require 5 cores of a 6 core cable. More than one detector may be connected to the same cable in this case the alarm circuit and tamper circuit are each connected in series (daisy chained) such that any detector on the circuit will cause the circuit to go open corcuit. The power supply to powered detectors is connected in parallel. Most sounder manufacturers supply matching decoys for their live sounders.

Pet Lens A lens fitted to a PIR which alters the beam pattern such that the detection zone is raised a certain height above the floor usually okay for dogs, but not necessarily so for cats. Pulse Count This facility is available on most PIRs and is similar to the Double Knock (see above) in that the detector has to detect 2 or 3 alarm events within a specific time before it creates an alarm state. Push-to-set A terminal on the control panel which allows a button outside the alarmed area to be pushed to set the alarm. Power Supply Unit (PSU) All Control Panels have a PSU usually rated at 1.0 Amp. This is normally sufficient to supply around 15 powered detectors (PIRs, Vibration Detectors) and two sounders. If extra power is required a separate PSU can be added. The RKP can be connected to a Blank End-station (Controlpanel without on-board keypad) or a stand-alaone control panel. Most control panels allow between 4 and 6 RKPs to be connected. Security Grades A system under which alarm components are graded (1 to 4) according to the level of protection they afford. Self Activating Bell (SAB) The 'bell' is a legacy term but the function is the same. Most external sounder units are SAB devices, that is that they can operate independently of the control panel. They contain a rechargeable battery and charging circuit. In non-alarm condition the battery is charged from the control panel and the LEDs (if fitted) indicate a healthy state. In alarm condition the sounder is triggered (and strobe if fitted) and powered by the control panels power supply. If the cable to the sounder is cut the sounder will still operate using its internal battery. Self Contained Bell (SCB) This is similar to the above except that in alarm condition the power is derived from its internal battery. Some sounder units can be set to operate in ether SAB or SCB mode. If the amount of power from the panel is insufficient to operate the sounder then it can be set to SCB mode.

This is useful when fitting multiple sounder units Verification The means of verifying that an intrusion has taken place. Can be via audio, visual or sequential means. Some panels have a final door set which sets the alarm as soon as the final detector goes to closed circuit. Immediate - detectors on this zone trigger an alarm immediately. Fire - some control panels have a dedicated fire zone and on some any zone is programmable as fire. The fire zone is designed for connection of smoke detectors. The zone operates 24hrs (i.e. whether the alarm is set or unset). The sounder(s) usually have a distinctive sound when triggered by this zone. Tamper - some control panels have a dedicated tamper zone and on some any zone is programmable as tamper. The zone operates 24hr (i.e. whether the alarm is set or unset) however when the alarm is unset only the internal sounder is activated, when the alarm is set both internal and external sounders are activated. Personal Attack (PA) - some control panels have a dedicated PA zone and on some any zone is programmable as PA The zone operates 24hr (i.e. whether the alarm is set or unset). Both internal and external sounders are activated. The zone is designed for the connection of PA buttons. Double Knock - some control panels can have a zone programmed to only alarm if two alarm signals are received within a certain time. This can significantly reduce the occurrance of false alarms CALL TODAY FOR A QUOTATION ON 01519204612 It is important to have your alarm system serviced at least once a year as most insurance companies require evidence that the alarm system is installed and maintained by an approved company. Having your alarm system maintained also provides you with peace of mind. It is also cost effective to have an alarm regular serviced rather than the cost of breakdowns and repairs. Our maintenances include the following providing you with extra peace of mind.

Check the history of alarm system since the last maintenance service Visual inspection of all major alarm components including cabling and connection where accessible, for signs of deterioration or damage Check mains power supply including charging rates (where applicable) Check battery power supply including charging rates (where applicable) Check and Walk test all detectors Check satisfactory operation of manually operated devices e.g. panic buttons Check and test all audible warning devices e.g sirens or speakers Check and test remote signalling equipment (where appropriate) Make adjustments as necessary Repair any minor faults (where applicable) Retrain the users on the use of the alarm system (if required) Log all test results Return the alarm systems to operation status Cleaning detectors and sensors At A1 SAS ALARM Security Systems we provide two types of maintenance depending on the alarm system you have, these are; Non-Monitored Alarm we provide an annual maintenance, completing all of the above as applicable. Monitored Alarm We provide two maintenance’s visits annually. Mail me and I'll try to help?why not call us and we can service your alarm system and leave you with new instruction manuals for your system at no extra cost. We now have more manuals and software than can be listed here. Please Note this list is not exhaustive and we cover other areas that may not be listed above. The goal of this paper is to provide an overview of the ADE mechanism and a literature review of developments since its introduction a decade ago. The discovery of publications found that currently there are 44 ADEs supporting a wide range of applications, but also application-agnostic purposes such as harmonisation with national geographic information standards. We hope this paper to double as a reference material for the developers of new ADEs.

The former method has been used in practice but it has certain disadvantages (discussed later), thus the latter method is preferred by developers and it is consequently the topic of this paper. ADE is a mechanism for enriching the data model with new feature classes and attributes, while preserving the semantic structure of CityGML, and it is an important component of the standard since its early versions. Its main purpose is supporting additional requirements by certain use cases, which is accomplished by specifying extensions to the data model. As this paper will show, ADE is employed for a few dozen different purposes, and in spite of being around for a decade there has not been any general publication so far focused solely on this integral and important concept of CityGML. This paper is intended to bridge that gap by giving an overview of the ADE mechanism, its developments, and discussing the current landscape of available implementations. Section ADE literature review provides a literature review of publicly available ADEs, while Section Discussion discusses the main findings and observations. Another aspiration of the paper is to serve as a reference for the developers of new ADEs. CityGML ADE Overview and history The ADE concept has been introduced in CityGML in its early days (in version 0.4 released in May 2007). Its two main purposes are: For example, adding the information on the gas consumption of a building. For example, adding a new module for city walls and monuments. However, the CityGML documentation describes only the former approach. The concept has remained unchanged in the version 2.0 of the standard, with an addition of a new example in the Annex of the standard (covered later in this paper). However, some of the ADEs developed alongside version 1.0 have been integrated as standard modules in CityGML 2.0 (i.e. Tunnel ADE and Bridge ADE).

These cases demonstrate that well documented and widely useful ADEs may have the prospect of being adopted by OGC and make their way into the standard. In a nutshell, some other relevant aspects regarding ADE to note are: These ADEs may be the ones that are widely supported by the OGC community (e.g. developed by multiple research groups participating in the CityGML Standards Working Group). Such efforts have a prospect of being integrated in future version of CityGML. CityGML is designed in such a way to keep a minimum number of common features using a slim core data model with the option to be extended for specific applications. Such a philosophy avoids having a large and complicated data model with an extensive number of classes. Examples. This ADE is intended to provide support for generating noise pollution maps with simulations based on 3D city models. Such a spatial analysis requires certain information not provided by the CityGML data model. For example, these are the noise reflection properties of buildings and their number of inhabitants (to estimate the population affected by noise). In the ADE they are added as elements buildingReflectionCorrection and buildingHabitants, and are being modelled as child elements of CityGML building features (Fig. 1 ):The prefix noise indicates attributes and objects that are associated with the Noise ADE.The prefix noise indicates attributes and objects associated with the Noise ADE.For example, the outline of a noise barrier can be represented by a curve gml:Curve. An example of a Noise ADE-compliant CityGML dataset demonstrating this case is given in the continuation: In this section, we give a brief overview of the most preferred ways of modelling an ADE in XSD and UML.In this case, the hook mechanism is not used because a new class is added and not only properties to an existing CityGML class. The new class Garage also has a new attribute numberOfCarsParked.

Before entering Engineer program mode the system should be unset, with the and indicators lit. This function tests all the outputs on the system.Pressing the leaves the function.LED’s 1 and 2 are on. LED’s 1and 2 are on. Up to 250 events can be stored in the memory. When the log reaches 250 events and another event takes place, the first event drops out. Flashing LED indicates the first zone in alarm.LED’s 1 and 2 are on. LED 2 is on. To assign a zone as immediate, remove the timed or timed inhibit function and make sure that it is enabled in the Used Zones section. The programmable range is 00-99 seconds. The actual time is multiplied by 10. If the Exit Time is interrupted within the last 10 seconds, then the Exit Time will restart at 10 seconds after the interruption has cleared. Program 1 cannot be disabled. For further information please refer to the Gen 4 Series User Guide. The LED is ON and the LED is OFF indicating that the system is set. Engineer Restore If the system has to be set by an engineer the message Required Engineer Restore Required is displayed. Whenever working close to the mains supply or connector, you should exercise extreme caution. Always isolate the mains supply before removing the control panel covers. I was wondering if it would be possible for one of you knowledgeable people to identify the alarm panel fitted in my house. It was fitted around 1998.I have both the G3 and G4 manuals and my alarm does not seem to confirm to the menu structure set out in either manual. I can access some sections, but not others.I have successfully managed to set up two programs as per the manuals, however I am not able to perform a simple walk test. I'm hoping if I can identify the panel, things should make more sense. The G3 manual I have is badged up as ADE. Features 8 zones programmable for Security, 2 zones for Fire. PA input. Tamper input. Outputs for External Siren (Bell) and Strobe. The Accenta panel may be concealed inside a cupboard or loft space, but it must be installed within the protected premises and in a position which is convenient for a mains supply. NOTE: The Accenta Mini enclosure is illustrated here, however the procedures for the other panels is similar. Remove the front cover(s) from the base assembly. Up to four remote LCD or LED keypads can be connected to the panel. Wire the keypad(s) as per Figure 5 (LED keypad) or Figure 6 (LCD keypad). Cut away the required thin wall sections around the edges of the baseplate for cable entry. The baseplate may be fitted directly to the wall using screws and wall plugs. If these are not appropriate for the wall then use suitable alternative fixings. This will automatically exclude the availability of the zone from programs and normal security applications.Operational in Unset and Set, the PA circuit will cause a full alarm condition when activated. PA is indicated on the control panel or RKP. Terminal TADB are for connection to the external siren.Twin External Siren Wiring 13V Supply Output The 13V output is to power detectors which require a voltage supply (PIR detectors etc). The supply is present at all times and may be used to supply a total load of 350mA. These terminals have been provided for connection to remote signalling equipment such as a digital communi- cator, or speech dialler. Where the communicator is powered from an external source, not the panel and the outputs are being used without relays, the panel and external power supply will require a common negative supply rail. The 2 A fused spur must be located close to the control panel. Check that the factory fitted links are connected to terminals PA, TAMP and T-A. If 2 or more keypad s are to be connected to a single control panel, then 13V, 0V, COMMS and SOUND terminals of all keypad s should be wired in parallel, but the tamper circuit must be wired in series, as shown below: 8. Test the operation of the keypad by connecting the battery power to the control panel. The red POWER LED will light, and the LCD should show “ Accenta LCD Keypad”. Since the control panel should power up into an alarm condition, the keypad will generate the alarm sound. To silence the alarm key in the customer code and press RESET. 9. The LCD should now display:... Ready 10. The potentiometer on the back of the PCB, labelled “LCD TILT”, should be adjusted to give the optimum contrast from the expected viewing angle. 11. Fix the front to rear housing, and tighten the retaining screw. 12. Installation is complete. You should now program the keypad PROGRAMMING PROGRAMMING The keypad has a local programming mode that allows you to change any of the data held by the keypad in its non-volatile memory. Note that this programming mode is completely separate from the engineer programming of the connected control panel, and may use a different engineer access code. Programming Mode To enter programming mode press and hold down the RESET button for 5 seconds. The LCD will prompt for the Engineer code. By default this is 9999, although it can be changed. Enter the engineer code. If the correct code has been entered the LCD will display the first menu option, “Change Zone Names?”. To see the other menu options press OMIT to step forward through the menus, or CHIME to step backwards. The flowchart overleaf shows the entire menu structure. The buttons on the keypad are generally used as follows: SET do this. RESET quit this menu without changing anything. OMIT move forwards through the menu options. CHIME move backwards through the menu options. PROG used in text entry to change upper to lower case.

Note that if the keypad is left in programming mode for more than 4 minutes it will time-out and revert back to normal mode. Zone Names Enter your code. The keypad uses a non-volatile memory to store a 14 character description (or name) of each of the zones. By default these descriptions are simply “Zone 1”, “Zone 2”, etc. The Zone descriptions can be changed from the first menu. Press SET and the LCD will display the name of zone 1. To see other zone names press OMIT or CHIME. To quit from this mode press RESET. To change the name of a zone press SET. Initially the cursor will be positioned at the right of the existing name. Press the OMIT key to delete single characters, or hold down the OMIT key for 2 seconds to delete the entire name. Enter the new zone name using the keypad keys in the same way that names are entered into a mobile phone. Above each number key are 3 or 4 letters. When you press the number key once the first letter above the key will be displayed. CHIME Change Ban Thank you, for helping us keep this platform clean. I found one of these accenta g4 minis lying in the workshop after coming home from holiday finding my reliable old faithful Optima XM had died and went to heaven. I installed it and had the same fault code. As i am an experienced installer and have (too much) faith in my own wiring I googled the code and arrived here. It transpires that when I was closing the case, I inadvertantly left the comms wire and a tamper wire in the way of the screw which sliced the wires in two. Relocating them solved the problem. Hope this helps others. PS coldelsol quote: lcd Accenta G4 rkp F131 -01-100.i know what it stands for If you knew what it meant why don't you enlighten us??Click to expand. By the way, have you done a Full Battery Discharge Test. No, I didn't think so. Bet it's naff. It'd be good to know the battery Ah rating, would be easier to advise, but, if it is a small 2.1Ah and a discharge test shows nearly or below 1.3Ah, replace it if it's a 7Ah and shows nearly or below 4.55Ah, again replace it.Click to expand. You can create your listing free at DIYnot Local. The Casil range by Honeywell is the range we recommend for all the panels we sell. The 2.1ah or 1.2ah will fit this panel. It features full and part set abilities and can take upto 8 zones, with two of them being allocated a fire zone if needed. This particular panel 8SP399A comes with LCD keypad and has a battery capacity upto 2.1ah. Please Sign in or create an account.

Also, the new Optima and Optima Compact control panels, available from January 1999, can use this keypad. The Accenta LCD keypad can be programmed with a 14 character name for each zone, which will be displayed to the customer in the event of an alarm, or when reviewing the event log. The main benefit is that all zones on the intruder alarm panel can be given meaningful names, such as LOUNGE, BACKDOOR, etc, to give immediate identification of any alarm or problem. The Accenta LCD keypad is an ideal upgrade to any existing Accenta system. Accenta LCD keypad s can be mixed with standard Accenta LED keypad s on the same system, up to a maximum of 4 keypad s. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT: disconnect both mains and battery power from the control panel before commencing installation. Fix the keypad in place by following these steps: 1. Loosen the retaining screw in the lower edge of the keypad housing, and separate the front and rear parts. 2. Choose the cable entry point. A hole in the back of the housing permits the rear entry of concealed wiring. Four knock-outs around the edge of the rear case permit cable entry from any side via mini-trunking. The knock-outs can be removed by levering with a screw driver. 3. Offer the rear housing up to the wall, and mark out the 3 screw positions. Use the top key-hole slot, and the lower 2 holes. 4. Drill and plug the wall as necessary, then fix the rear housing to a wall using three No. 6 wood screws. 5. Run a 6 core alarm cable from the control panel to the keypad. The keypad connection terminals can be found on the PCB which is held in the front part of the housing. 6. If a single keypad is to be fitted to the control panel then simply connect each of the 6 terminals on the keypad to the same terminal on the panel, i.e. 13V connects to 13V, COMMS to COMMS, etc. 7.

Once the Engineer program mode has been accessed, each configuration may be changed in any order.

This tool uses JavaScript and much of it will not work correctly without it enabled. Please turn JavaScript back on and reload this page. Please type your message and try again. Thanks in advanced. PA: The PA output operates when a PA alarm is triggered or a duress code is used. INT: The intruder output is operated when an intruder condition is triggered whilst the system is set. SET: The Set output operates whenever the system becomes set and is used to indicate opening and closing. ABORT: Operates if the panel is unset within 90 seconds of the alarm condition starting. It is cleared when the panel is reset by the user or engineer. Connecting to this interface could be achieved to 5 GPIOs of the Raspberry Pi ( NOT DIRECTLY - RPi's don't like 13V on the GPIO header.) It seems that interfacing with individual PIRs cant be achieved with this connector, and while you could in theory connect to the zone inputs for monitoring purposes, the panel may not appreciate the interference. Also worth noting is wether the panel is maintained under a service contract with a third party company. Modifying the panel wiring is very likely to upset such a company. I've got some knowledge with electronics but not enough to figure out how to connect it to the PI. Interesting thoughts about tapping in to the zone inputs, how would I go about doing this. The PIRs I use are Active8 and a couple of door contacts. There's no service agreements as the alarm was installed by myself and my father. It is essentially the same as the schematic above. (Please note the board in the photo has been turned upside down.Could I do something similar to tap in to the zones? There should be a tamper spring somewhere on the board. Removing the panel cover causes the spring to de-tension and the switch to open-circuit.Not that he needs to as he should be able to pick up the PIR input from the alarm directly.

It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. The problem I have is I cannot get my head around the part set programme for this alarm. Everything else is set-up and is working fine, but as my customer is in her 80's it's very difficult to send her outside while I play around with the alarm settings. I only wish to set 1 part set on this job. Could someone explain step by step how to set-up the part set. I tried Honeywell technical helpline, not very good, I emailed them and after a week, not reply.LCD Scroll to programmes, you will see P1 P2 P3 select P2 and tick the zones you want in there. Go to timers for setting and timers. LED ress rog leds 123 lit select deselect by pressing. Now only 123 are working. Set up timers as before.I will be back to my customer this week so I will try the part set on the LCD keypad. Thanks again. You can create your listing free at DIYnot Local. When too big a load is put on a pin it will try to source more current that it is capable of doing. The pins can sink current better so often an Led will be connected to 3.3 volts on one side and to one side of a resister with the other side of the resistor connected to the pin. Then to turn on the Led the pin is taken to 0 instead of 1. Double check you're using the right one. With CMOS that is no longer a real issue. There is a small difference, but especially for a led, that can be ignored. If you tie your led between 3.3V and the pin, your software will need to write a 0 to turn it on and a 1 to turn it off. That costs brain-power, so it is better to just wire the led between the pin and GND. It prints a nice overview. Now, look up on File:RPi P1 header.png - eLinux.org where you expect phys pin 11 and 12. Now pins 11 and 12 of the connector should be outputs. Next gpio write 0 1; gpio write 1 1 will set them both high. I'm telling you to try two pins at once, just because you might mess up and get the one next to it. Now you should be able to see something change on the connector. If you then ask the Raspi to read what's on that same pin, it will stop writing a voltage and start reading whatever voltage is coming from the outside world. There is a danger of blowing up the Raspi because if you are shorting out one of the pins to 0v (say, emulating a switch) when you ask the Raspi to write 3.3V then there is nothing to stop the Raspi writing excessively high currents. Leonard pointed out Ohm's Law of Volts equal Amps times resistance and if there is minimal resistance then Amps goes very high (in theory). Just to be safe, I suggest that you use your 3k3 resistor in series with any push-buttons used between pin and 0v to see if that will work more safely than a full short circuit. Have a look at these two official Raspberry Pi.org website pages which ignore my advice.

Probably;y best to use an optoisolator as to give very little chance that anything will come across from one circuit to the other even if misconfigured. Depends on how good the installation was. I was thinking a similar thing, an LDR or phototransistor on the LED that is lit or flashes when the alarm is activated, that way no need to even open the panel, and it doesn't matter if it looks ugly if the panel is hidden away somewhere anyway. On the breadboard, do i connect the positive to the 13v terminal on the alarm panel.Could I use a tester to see what the output is on the PI side before connecting the PI to it. Thanks Shyam If so, I assume the positive end of the meter would be placed where the 3v3 is, and the negative on the GPIO. What would I connect in place of the 0v? This installed successfully and I'm able to set the Pins to in or out, but everytime I read the pin I get 0. Everytime I try to write 1 to a pin, then do a read I still get 0. WiringPi has a built in test for the GPIO pins, that says all the pins failed. Is there something that I'm missing. I've tried with the root user and the PI user, I've also tried RPi.GPIO and the python script on the above link, still no luck If it is the RPi2 the base address is shifted. I would work on getting the pins working with some known good circuits, simple resistor pull up and pull downs, before attempting to hook it up to the alarm. I would use something like a 10k to ground for the pull down and a 10k to 3.3 for the pull up, not at the same time. If I connected the LED to ground and 3.3 pin the light lit up, when i connected it to the ground and another pin and tried to assign a value of true or one to the pin, it didnt light up Do you know about the MagPi magazine. The web site is: Once you are ready to try again, I would use some pins you haven't used before. I'll check out the magazine. If I remember correctly the RPi can source over that ok.

Guest rwybrow, May 5, 2005 in Control Panels (Public) They did leave basic intructions, but i would like to have a copy of the maunal. The manual pdf file has enabled me to change my code, many thanks, though my alarm is a slightly different model. It too is an ADE Optima Compact though it only has 6 zones and there's no reference to G3. Do you know where I might be able to download the manual for my particular model. Thanks again, Andy. Could someone please upload it or email me it to: I have an Optima compact too and I want to turn it off to work on the mains but once the mains are turned off the alarm goes off. IT SHOULDNT I need to switch the mains off to upgrade the switch board and it could take a days job. There must be a swtich off to the system. And tha problem is. i had to dissconnect maince, and now the strobe lights and attack light is on, reset button doesn't do anything. I dont know who installed the system and where to call. Can anyone help thanks We've had to manage over the weekend by just not turning that fuse on which unfortunatley is also the one that covers all the plug sockets! Is it an easy job? I have a feeling that you cannot help because of the nature of the problem, but at the moment I don't want to go to the expense of calling an engineer out. His alarm, an Optima Compact, seems to have self-destructed in that it will (sometimes) sound the alarm for a while or make strange noises as if trying to sound the alarm. The light does not flash.

However, it shows you how to use Python to read the input push-buttons and light (write to the connected pin) a LED. There is an internal Raspi resistance that pulls up the voltage to 3.3v when reading and the push-buttons pull the pin voltage back down to 0V when operated. Using Python means that it will work safely on any Raspberry Pi model and also gives you an excellent way of writing your alarm program. Here's the principle, Raspberry Pi Documentation Here's a reaction time program written in Python which reads the two push-buttons and writes to a LED. In my experience, your 3k3 resistor will be too high for the LED to light up. It was a faulty PI, for some reason the GPIO pins weren't working as they should have been. Now on to the next step.connecting to the PIRs and the Magnetic door switch As well as the status of the alarm, I'd like to make use of the PIRs so that I can integrate them with my home automation. The internal siren doesn't sound (though sometimes makes that noise a dodgy loudspeaker makes when it is trying to make a noise). It sounds perfectly when inputting the code or when a zone is triggered after setting the alarm and exiting the house. Re-setting makes no difference. Putting the code in makes no difference. As it is not my alarm I don't want to land him with a large (or even small) bill. I've also been advised to speak to the manufacturers by a local company I called, which is how I discovered this forum in trying to find them, so I'll try that as well. This is all well and good (fortunately the alarm is disabled at the moment), but what if something goes wrong. Does anyone know anything about these alarms? How can we tell what model they have. So very helpful. I think the idea is to get rid of the alarm, but there appears to be varying wiring throughout the house which Dad thinks is linked to the alarm system (Dad is an electrician but is loathe to disconnect anything in case he sets the thing off). What's the best approach of removing these things (assuming I can't find an instruction manual.)?? There are some here for a start. The number should be on the inside of the panel, but it will trigger the alarm if you open it.To reset and reprogram you will need the engineer code which will be provided in the manual unless the previous occupant changed it of course. Thank you for the link to the TLC site, I shall have a look through and see whether or not the info's there that I require. I'm trying to avoid a callout from an alarm specialist, given that my parents have already paid out aplenty sorting other problems in the house that was left for them.If the panel still has mains to it and its powered then you will need to contact the manufacturer. Most panels have a factory reset. Some ade panels have a none volotile memory reset where you power down the panel and remove power from the battery (via connector) and then place a jumper wire across certain terminals by inserting the wire jumper it re sets the memory back to its default settings. Once you are back to the default settings then and only then does the manual become usefull because in the manual it will only have the factory acess codes for both engineer and user. So, currently I know: The keypad has two power buttons - one with 'day' illuminated and a power one. The control panel (in the airing cupboard, of all places) I haven't yet touched.

So the thoughts are that I should try and contact a firm to get everything reset (given that there's power to the control panel and keypad), or should I suggest dad attempts a reset once we've found the manual. Apologies for being so fussy, but I do want to get this sorted for them, but not at the expense of a blaring alarm!!! Had a house alarm fitted by Paul. Good price and very professional. Clean and tidy. Explained everything in detail. Looking to use him again in the future. Thanks Paul for a good job. He listened, advised, took our comments on board and installed just what we wanted. Highly recommended We have both alarm and CCTV fitted by Paul at TPPS, the quality is first class and the after sales service is the best out there. Highly recommended. He installed burglar alarm system at my old property and I have used him again for my new home. Always excellent and honest service, really diligent work.

He clearly puts your requirements first every time rather than just up-selling at every opportunity. Looking at security systems then TPPS and Paul are brilliant! It was all done at a very reasonable price and would highly recommend him to anyone. He carried out the installation professionally and promptly and cleared up at the end of the work. Paul then explained and demonstrated the functionality of the system to our complete satisfaction. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone requiring similar work. Paul answered and was more than happy to come out to fix despite the late hour. He was clear on the cost and the options available to us. Polite and knowledgeable throughout. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you We chose to have both CCTV and a new alarm system, both with App-based interfaces, so you can carry the feeling of security with you, wherever you may be. Paul is a quiet, polite and hard-working man, who treats your home as if it were his own, rather than a construction site. First time we've had someone work in the house who removes his shoes, to avoid any marks to wooden floors. The installation was completed to plan, with minimal disruption. The quality of work is excellent. In the end, the technology has to work reliably (it does) and protect your property, but what makes this project stand out, is the friendly, thoughtful approach of Paul who takes the time to understand exactly what you want, and then pulls out all the stops to make it become a reality. Would give 6 stars, if possible - highly recommended! Paul fitted a wireless alarm system for me recently and I have had no problems. Paul took time to explain everything, a really professional service. I will be looking to have security lighting fitted by this company. Highly recommended. I’m so pleased that I did. My Mom is elderly and worries about people coming to her house and also overcharging her.

Paul was brilliant, he went around the next day to check out her alarm which wasn’t working properly. He spent time checking out her alarm properly, explained things as nobody had before, didn’t charge her a fortune and was generally friendly and extremely helpful whilst being thorough. She was so happy with the service and we’ll never look anywhere else when needing our alarms serviced. Soi'd say ?1000 for the CCTV and alarm (which calls me, if it goes off - ive done it loads of times, it works very well), was a great deal. Original post. Put an alarm and CCTV in, for ?1000. Very happy, nice chap, everything works fine. Been in about 2 or 3 weeks, now. I often forget to turn the alarm off when i get in from Tesco, and it always goes off, so that's good. And the cctv is pretty brilliant, too. When its dark, i can see who is ringing the bell. Also, i had some problem with 2 of the cameras, cus i did something wrong - but he just came and messed about with it and it was back up, straight away - perfect after service. I'm really pleased (its been about 2 months now, ive just updated this) He has installed both a wireless alarm for me and a fully wired CCTV system. Always willing to offer advice, but also happy to do what you want if you have specific ideas. We had one small issue which he was happy to come back and rectify. Would recommend to others and have done so. My alarm was fitted by Paul just before Christmas, he fitted me in even though it was a busy time as he knew I had just moved into a property and was concerned about security. My alarm is all singing and dancing. Its brilliant, I feel safe when I'm in my property and I feel confident that its secured when I'm out of the property. I can even set it with my large dog having full reign within the property-something that other alarm companies struggled to accommodate or tried to charge the earth to work around.

Once the Engineer program mode has been accessed, each configuration may be changed in any order.

The bellbox outside is labelled up with a local companies details. I would have assumed the bellbox would have Accenta branding on it or could this be because the original failed. Many thanksBell box's are internally branded with the manufacturer, often installers have stickers or buy x number of screen printed covers, rather than plain covers. Good way for us guys to advertiseBuying newer PIRs will reduce that click, but the sound won't go away for ever.As Securepspark suggest, installer can advertise unsing their labels, and give you a contact number to the new owners when they move in. If the panel is a small one, then it'll be a 2.1ah 12V battery, and you'll need to put in engineering mode before you can open the panel up to replace it. Bell boxes (being open to the elements at the back) tend to die about the same time as the battery does, so I've never repalaced one yet.As Securepspark suggest, installer can advertise unsing their labels, and give you a contact number to the new owners when they move in. The normal engineering code is 9999, so press PROG, or P, then 9999, then you can open the alarm panel (carefull of the screws as they always fall out) but if the engineers code has been changed, then the alarm will go off, and you'll need to enter your normal code to silence the bell; then you can connect the battery. Alternativly if you want to play safe, then warn the neighbours that the bells going to go off for about 5 minutes, switch off the power, and then open the panel and fit the battery. Here's the manual if the engineers code has been changed, and you want to reset it.Press 0 and you can open the panel lid.

To close out of engineer's mode you press RESET twice. You can create your listing free at DIYnot Local. Please upgrade your browser to improve your experience.
